History of the Youth Pledge

Youth Pledge Day we commemorate every year on October 28 it does not appear by itself. When viewed from the history, the Youth Pledge began when a group of youth feel there needs to be an adhesive and unifying our nation stronger in order to win the independence of Indonesia.

Indonesian Youth Congress
Youth Pledge is an oath of allegiance from the density formula Indonesian youth, known as Youth Congress Youth Congress l and II. Now, through the congresses that we can recognize the Youth Pledge.
I Youth Congress held in Jakarta on 30 April to 2 May 1926. At the congress, they discussed the importance of national unity for the struggle for independence. Then, on 27-28 October 1928, the young Indonesian Youth Congress convening II. And, on October 28, 1928, all participants read the Youth Pledge. Since then, every year on October 28, we commemorate the Youth Pledge Day.

Sumpah Pemuda

Kami Putra dan Putri Indonesia mengaku bertumpah darah yang satu, tanah Indonesia.

Kami Putra dan Putri Indonesia mengaku berbangsa yang satu, bangsa Indonesia.

Kami Putra dan Putri Indonesia menjunjung bahasa persatuan, bahasa Indonesia.

Leaders involved
Many leaders who participated in the Youth Congress I and II. They came representing various youth organizations that exist at that time. Among them was the caretaker, as Soegondo Djojopoespito of Students-Student Association of Indonesia (GN) As with the chairman and his deputy, RM Djoko Marsaid (Jong Java).
